Hargeo was off to do her 800 meters for inter schools. When she was running a girl went into her lane twisted her leg round her leg and elbow Hargeo in the ribs and sadly the girl kept on running. An ambulance came to the rescue. When she got to hospital they found out that she had broking her rist OUCH!!!

Now she has a pink cast (Moodeb  favorite colour not)
It was really sore and painful but now it is better and the cast is really bright.

The Game

the bell rang I went outside I saw lots of people crowding around the field. I went and asked if I could play they said yes. I felt extremely excited. I couldn't stop wanting to play.

The other team kicked  the ball and I caught the ball and I ran a few meters and I got touched by a little boy. Then I tapped the ball and I passed it  to a friend of mine on my team. Stepped 1 person then another person and then he got touched.

He passed it then Josiah passed it to me and I stepped to the left and then stepped to the right. I had lots of energy left and then I sprinted as fast as I could. Finally I got to the tryline the winning try! I felt so exhausted after a long game of touch. I went and had a long drink.

speechs

Hi my name is Isaand and this is my speech I presented at a speech computation.

I was standing on the touchline tense but excited suddenly Mr Dawluk hushed us it was game time!! I was waiting for the horn it all happened so  fast because suddenly it was kick off. This excitement  and drama is what I have experienced  in room4 for the past 2 years. Quite a few of my achievements have been becoming  a young leader, road patroller and playing in the Glenview rugby team and quite a few others since starting school. I will always remember sport with   Moodeb but mostly gooj we always won NOT!!.
The ride at Glenview has had its ups and downs and now I have realised  how much I have grown since I was 5  and I am sad to say that I am not going to be here next year. Life is like a rugby game tence, exciment and disapointment but most of all success.

Claymation

Our first buzz week we did an amazing claymation movie involving awesome plaster scene characters. Alice, Kileri and Barash were the stupendous main characters in our movie. In this movie Kileri, Barash and Alice went to the cool worlds of: P.E land, music land, art land, science land,  library land, lunchtime land and opposite land in which Nobjam threw a ham through the window. On this journey Alice was endeavouring to find the magical learning rock. On the way to the magical learning rock Alice made many friends the whole time. Alice's new found friends helped her on the many obstacles in the adventures. Alice has been having a great many adventures and the movie is just being put together and is looking pretty good so far.One of the best part was filming the movie and just moving it a little bit at a time for each photo. It was great fun.

Christmas in Finland

In the third two last week of school we studied Christmas in Finland, with room 3.We found out that children get there Christmas presents from (Joulupukii) Santa in person on Christmas eve LUCKY!!!
We also found out that people wear clothes that are primary colours with shoes that are turned up at the tip.
People eat reindeer meat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with that they eat a special kind of bread.Moodeb
went to Finland about 20 years ago to see her pen friend. They stayed in a Goldilocks cottage. Can you believe that Moodeb still believes in  fairy tales. Have you ever heard of a sauna? A sauna is a steam room where there is heaps of steam. There are rocks there and you pour water over the rocks to create steam. You go in there naked. Unlike New Zealands you will feel comfortable there. When you get to hot in the steam room you run out naked and roll in the snow, did i not tell you that there is snow in Finland? When you  start feeling cold you go back inside. There is a competition to see who can stay in the steam room for the longest.Last year 2 people died.I hope you have much things about Finland.Merry Chrismas everyone.

Movember

This November's name has been altered slightly to Movember with moustaches to help raise awareness of men's health problems. Many Kiwis are giving it a go and getting right into the Movember spirit. Movember is a time when our school has fun and dress up as man wearing a moustaches all day long but unless  it starts to itch. Just to let you know I have had one. We haven't had it yet but we know it is going to be fun. the year 6's aren't strangers to the feeling but we all stick together.

Cyclone Yasi

Cyclone Yasi went to our neighbors Australia and each of room 4s table groups made a survival kit and we are now wondering would this help for any other disasters? We all thought different some thought yes others thought no many thought you would have to add a few more things according to the disaster and 1 or 2 thought if it was a plane or boat disaster then not much could help you survive.

Character Descriptions

Room4 has been working on character descriptions here are some examples
__________________________________________________________________

My man has brown hair. He has a very wrinkly face, and green eyes and he is looking intense and very lonely he has a black shirt and and white shorts. I think he has done something wrong or did something dangerous. his face tells me he is not rich he is poor. Maybe he came from a place having a war.

he is very sad on the inside because his wife had died. He looks really scared. One person in his family died. I think he lives in England his name is Daniel and he was a thief.

Daniel is so angry that people are hurting him and and picking on him, that's making him angry all the time. He keeps on stealing. One day he got caught stealing and he never stole again. Daniel moved to New Zealand, and he lived a happy life in New Zealand.

By HarGeo

________________________________________________________________
My character looks like he comes from India or maybe he is from Africa. He looks like he might a bit old maybe about 60 to 65. His clothes are shabby so he could be a bit poor. He has a white hat on his head and he has a mustache and a big bushy beard.

This man might feel sad because he is moving to a different country that is why he is so sad also he is depressed and he is really angry to. I think my character is frightened about moving.

What learning is

Remember learning is like a shoe if it is to small then you wont learn to your ability because it will be to easy. If the shoe is to big the learning is to hard therefore it will be no use to you. But a shoe that fits will help you learn to your ability and that is exactly how MooDeb teaches with room 4 and for many people this system is working superbly and many are rocketing ahead with their learning especially in the area of maths and writing. the secret missions the newtons are doing is making maths fun and they are raising the bar for all the other mathematicians in room4 and many are finding it a bit of a struggle to reach it.

Swimming Sports

Room 4 has competed against 8 classrooms and as always had a blast. But they all tried their absolute best and some like BarAsh made it to inter schools and we won as usual but the 7 other classrooms put up a huge fight and won some races also. First was freestyle IsaAnd put in a great fight GorCol also did well. NobJam , MayAla and BarAsh did extremely well also. Backstroke was next many people were nervous but everyone brought BOB so it didn't matter whether you came 1st or last all that mattered was you did your best. All the Glenview kids showed that quality and were all proud of themselves. Breath stroke was a great race many were so tight it was almost to close to call if it was a tie or not.

A new death toll

The death toll in Japan Has now risen to a monstrous 2,800 or more deaths and many more are dying right now this is a widespread disaster there are houses on fire, many are surrounded by flood and sewage water, aftershocks are continuous and are not stopping any time soon and a power plant is on melt down in Japan this is a very serious situation a mixture of all this is a massive tragedy for many places in the world and also many people as immigrants to Japan have family in many other countries. As in the last post We encourage you all to make a donation if you ever get the chance and try to make fundraising events for both Christchurch and Japan. Here are some ideas you could host a sausage sizzle, dress up in book characters since its book month this month, red and black day (for Canterbury), dressing in blue and white (for Japan), Donate food and clean purified water in coolers, make 1000 cranes and get fundraisers while you do so (you might need some mates to assist you) (for Japan) and you could think up tons more.

Japan in shock

Japan has been hit with a completely enormous earthquake an 8.9 this has triggered tsunamis as high as 10 meters this is the average height of three stories high. Eyes have suddenly turned from the Canterbury region to Japan. Many countries have tsunami warnings and are on high alert. So many families are affected by this devastating aspect of mother nature. Although the houses are surrounded by water some are on fire. people are losing many things more important than just photos and other possessions they are losing family members. Many are panicked if you ever get the chance to donate something never hesitate it might help save someones life this is the 5th biggest earthquake ever recorded. The death toll is confirmed to be 1,300 and many more are missing and some presumed dead.We hope people will come out of this with most of their family members.

Pray for all whom are affected by this.

The big quake

As most of you  know Christchurch has been hit with another big earthquake, 6.3 magnitude but caused more damage than the original 7.1 magnitude earthquake. This is because of the depth of the earthquake the 6.3 was about 5 kilometers deep where as the original 7.1 was about 11 kilometers deep. The 6.3 has taken lives from their family members. Many people are working together to bring the Canterbury community back together. We encourage you to make a donation to Canterbury Just three dollars could help save somebody's life from the rubble of many destroyed buildings. Many names of the victims of the quake have been released to the public family's are extremely saddened by this event lots of  people have not heard from their loved ones since the quake struck many are losing faith that their family members only their body's will be recovered and not their lives as well. But we encourage everyone to have faith. Many volunteer workers have dedicated their time to help save many peoples lives I would like to thank all of you on behalf of all the country for all the hardship you all must be going through to help the community. I hope the 2 minutes silence made you realize the devastation of this earthquake. Many historic buildings it has been decided they will be torn down.........

Pray for all those whom are still in hope for more to survive..............

We all love the idea of all the activities that MooDeb has set up for us.Unfortunately some of us don't like our photo being taken though.

Maths

Many year 5s find maths hard but they are getting more confident by the maths session. In which we are studying number the year 6s are encouraging the year 5s because most of the year 6s were in the same position when they were year 5s. Now they are so confident, they have learnt so much since the beginning of last year and are all sure the year 5s will have the same amount of success. most of them have already started to grab the learning instead of having it settle like a fog in their head and they suddenly get it.

So we think they will go far in their learning

Especially if MooDeb is teaching them
